This is interesting in that Firefox immediately opens them with Transmission, and I've done 'Open URL' from Transmission with no issues using a pasted magnet link, but Chromium just isn't making the association, and doesn't give me any options anywhere (that I can find) to do so. ![]() So I went back in and again tried to open a magnet link, clicked on it, hit Launch Application (and this time wasn't dumb enough to put 'remember' and once again, it opened a Chromium blank window - just didn't make the association with Transmission at all. Magnet links work by your machine retrieving the torrent information from other peers. It worked insofar as it no longer automatically associates Chromium with the magnet links and killed the 'remember my choice' part of it. The torrent will start downloading, but it can take quite a bit longer. The app takes relatively longer to fetch the torrent info from Magnet links. Thanks, it was already set to false, but just deleting the line half worked. Why can’t I open a magnet link anymore The app hangs on gathering info. Try resetting the torrent and magnet handlers in firefox. So here is what I do - right click on Magnet Icon THEN select open in new TAB. If not, you'll have to enable the VPN on your device to get around geographic restrictions. while im using my tor browser, I havent been able to click on magnets and auto start my 'Transmission' software.To do this, search for "qBittorrent" in Windows Search, right-click on the torrent client, and select Run as administrator. Run the qBittorrent client as an administrator to ensure that restrictions from the operating system are not causing this issue. ![]() Select Add an exclusion, and then select from files, folders, file.
